We offer a fully insured service, with over 10 years experience.
Depending on your calf rearing set up, we won’t need any help from you, other than a plug socket for our radio.
We use a top quality IAE calf crush to restrain the calf and to minimise stress and discomfort to the calf while being treated.
Disbudding should be done as early as possible. Ideally between 2 weeks and 2 months of age, but certainly before the horns have developed.
We can do this at the same time as castration if required.
Adrenacaine will be administered as a local anaesthetic and to provide pain relief.
Terramycin spray will be applied afterwards to help prevent infection, although wounds usually heal well, if kept clean.
After the procedure, we will provide you with an aftercare sheet and a list of calf numbers which have been disbudded for your own records.
